In-app guided tours
OdoMate can walk you through its own interface: short spotlight tours that point at one control at a time and explain what it does, a library where you can reopen any of them, and a getting-started checklist that tracks your first module end to end.
Where to find them
Section titled “Where to find them”Look for the Guides button — a book icon, usually labelled “Guides”:
- On desktop, it’s in the sidebar rail on the left.
- On mobile, open the bottom navigation’s More sheet.
Click it to open the guide library: every tour available to you, in one sheet.
Finding your way around
Section titled “Finding your way around”Before anything else, OdoMate opens a short orientation tour the first time you arrive — you don’t need to have generated anything yet. Only one tour can be pending at a time, and this one takes the slot first: it explains where things live, so the tours after it make more sense.
It points out:
- The three workspaces — Build, Requirements, and Modules — and where they live in the sidebar.
- The Guides and feedback controls, grouped together under Help.
- The collapse toggle, which shrinks the sidebar to icons for more room (⌘B does the same).
- Your account row, with your profile, theme, language, and sign-out.
On a phone, where the sidebar doesn’t render, the tour instead describes the same destinations inside the bottom navigation’s More sheet.
Like the tours below, it fires once — reopen it from the library any time you want to see it again.
The welcome tour
Section titled “The welcome tour”Once that orientation is done or skipped, the first time you reach the builder, OdoMate starts a short welcome tour on its own — no need to open the library. It points out the description box, the example templates, image upload, and the five-stage flow (Describe, Refine, Configure, Generate, Download) your module will move through.
Three more tours auto-start the same way, the first time you reach the stage they explain:
- Refining your requirements — starts when you first reach the Refine stage, and explains how to answer the AI’s clarifying questions.
- Configuring the generation — starts on the Configure stage, and covers picking a model and turning on demo data or tests.
- Your module is ready — starts once a run completes, and covers downloading your module, plus trying it in the live sandbox — but only if the agent verified the module installs cleanly; otherwise that step is left out, the same way the completion screen leaves out the disabled Preview in Odoo button (see previewing a module in Odoo).
Each of these fires only once. Whether you finish it or skip it, it won’t auto-start again — reopen it from the library any time you want to see it a second time.
The guide library
Section titled “The guide library”Beyond the five tours above, the library also holds:
- Requirements library — if you have access to that tab, a short tour of your saved requirement specs.
- Modules library — if you have access to that tab, a tour of your generated modules, their version history, and how enhancing one works.
- Your module’s page — if you have access to a module’s own page, a tour of its verdict pill, its sections, and enhancing straight from there.
- Profile & sandbox access — a tour of your profile page and where your sandbox password lives.
Some tours only make sense on the screen they explain. If a tour is greyed out in the library, the sheet tells you which step to reach first — for example, Refining your requirements stays disabled until you’re actually on the Refine stage, since it has nothing to point at anywhere else.
Taking a tour
Section titled “Taking a tour”- Each step highlights one part of the screen and shows a card with a short explanation.
- Use Next and Back to move between steps, or Skip to leave the tour early.
- On the last step, the button reads Done.
A tour you’ve completed shows a checkmark next to its name in the library. A skipped tour shows no checkmark and can be restarted from the library at any time — starting it again always begins from the first step.
The getting-started checklist
Section titled “The getting-started checklist”A small Getting started card appears above the Describe stage until you finish everything on it or dismiss it. It tracks four things:
- Taking the welcome tour
- Generating your first module
- Answering the AI’s clarifying questions
- Downloading your module
The first item is a link that starts the welcome tour directly; the other three tick themselves off as you actually do the work — there’s nothing to click for those. A progress bar shows how many of the four you’ve completed. If you dismiss the card, it stays dismissed; there’s no “hide” you can undo from here, but nothing it tracks is lost — your progress is unaffected either way.
