Reading the plain-language spec summary
Once the AI refine chat hands back a spec, OdoMate also writes a second, shorter version of it in plain business language — so you can check what’s about to be built without reading model and field names.
Where it appears
Section titled “Where it appears”As soon as a spec exists, OdoMate starts generating the overview in the background. You don’t ask for it — it’s simply ready a few seconds later, in two places:
- In the chat, an Explain it simple link appears below the conversation once the overview has loaded. Click it to open a panel with the overview; click Hide overview to close it again. This is available whether or not you’ve clicked Edit Spec yet.
- In Edit Spec, if the overview is ready, two tabs appear above the spec: Simple overview and Technical spec. Switching to Technical spec opens the same editable view described in refining requirements.
What the overview covers
Section titled “What the overview covers”The overview is always the same four sections, written without Odoo’s technical vocabulary — no model, view, or field-type names:
- What this module does — the business problem and the everyday workflow.
- What you will see in Odoo — the menus, forms, and lists you’ll find.
- Who can do what — roles and permissions, in plain terms.
- What is not included — anything the spec explicitly leaves out.
Keeping it in sync
Section titled “Keeping it in sync”Editing the spec text in Edit Spec doesn’t regenerate the overview for you. Instead, a yellow banner appears on it — “The spec was edited — this overview may be outdated” — with a Regenerate link that requests a fresh one for your current edit. Until you click it, OdoMate shows you the old overview rather than none, but marks it stale so you know not to trust it as written.
If the overview is stale when you click Configure & Generate, it is not saved with the spec — a wrong overview is worse than no overview, so nothing is kept until it’s been regenerated against the text you actually accepted.
Language
Section titled “Language”The overview is written in your current interface language — English or Ukrainian — not a language you pick separately for it.
After you accept the spec
Section titled “After you accept the spec”Once you accept a spec that has an overview, it’s saved alongside it and reappears wherever that spec does: as the excerpt on its card, and in full at the top of its detail view, in the requirements library.
