Requesting a team
A team lets you share one GitHub connection with colleagues instead of each person connecting their own. You can’t create a team yourself — you send a request, and an OdoMate admin approves or declines it.
Sending a request
Section titled “Sending a request”-
Open your Profile page and find the Team card.
-
Type a name for the team (up to 80 characters) and select Request a team.
-
The card switches to a pending state: Your team request “your-team-name” is awaiting admin approval.
You can only have one team request pending at a time, and you can’t send one at all if you already belong to a team — the card only shows the form when neither is true.
Cancelling a pending request
Section titled “Cancelling a pending request”While a request is pending, the card shows a Cancel request button in place of the form. Cancelling removes the request outright — if you want a team after that, you start over with a new one.
After a decision
Section titled “After a decision”- Approved — the card shows the team’s name with an Open team page link, and you’re now a member.
- Declined — the card shows “Your previous request was declined. You can submit a new one,” and the form reappears so you can send another request, under the same name or a different one.
