Sharing your team's GitHub connection

A team’s GitHub connection is shared: the owner connects one GitHub account once, and from then on every member of the team uses that same connection — nobody else has to install anything individually. Only the owner can connect, reuse, or disconnect it; members can only see whether it’s there.

  1. Open the team dashboard and find the GitHub connection card.
  2. Select Connect GitHub.
  3. You’re taken to GitHub to choose or install the OdoMate GitHub App on the account or organization you want the team to use.
  4. GitHub returns you to the team page. The card now reads Connected to <account>.

If the account you’re signed in with already owns a connected GitHub installation elsewhere — on another team, or from before this team existed — the GitHub connection card offers to reuse it instead of installing the app again:

  1. Open the team dashboard’s GitHub connection card.
  2. Under Not connected, look for a line like “Connected on your <other-team>” with a Use <account> button.
  3. Select Use <account>. The card updates immediately to Connected to <account> — there’s no redirect to GitHub, since the app is already installed.

If you’d rather connect a different account than any of the ones offered, select Connect a different account (in place of Connect GitHub when reuse candidates exist) and follow the same install flow as above.

Everyone on the team sees the GitHub connection card and its current status on the team dashboard, but only the owner sees the Connect, Use, and Disconnect controls. A member sees a note instead: “Only the team owner can manage the connection.”

  1. Open the team dashboard’s GitHub connection card.
  2. Select Disconnect.

Disconnecting takes effect immediately, for every member — not just you. There’s no confirmation step and no undo: to reconnect, run through Connecting a GitHub account again, or reuse another installation you own if you have one.
